Renewable energy and oil

Renewable energy, usable energy derived from replenishable sources such as the Sun (solar energy), wind (wind power), rivers (hydroelectric power), hot springs (geothermal energy), tides (tidal power), and biomass (biofuels). Several forms have become price competitive with energy derived from fossil fuels. The way the world thinks about renewable energy has transformed. It is no longer just a concept but a reality, and interest in renewable energy is growing globally. With much of the world looking for fossil-free energy sources, wind power is becoming increasingly popular, and forward-looking companies are adapting their oil and gas solutions for use in the renewables sector. If renewable energy is indeed able to undercut the cost of legacy fuels, then governments and large corporations building new power plants will almost certainly turn to green energy for any new capacity, which will reduce demand for oil, natural gas and coal.

The oil-rich Middle East is boosting investments in renewable energy generation at home and abroad. Just a few years ago, this notion would have raised a few eyebrows. But… This follows other deals by Shell — along with the likes of BP Plc, Chevron Corp. and Total SA — to invest in renewable energy, retail power, batteries and other non-fossil fuel businesses. Oil and gas is often painted as the dirtiest sector within the energy industry, but major companies have begun to invest in renewable technologies in a bid to clean up the economy. Of the six “super-majors” – BP, Shell, Chevron, Total, Eni and Exxon – many of them have pumped billions into clean energy projects, although question marks remain over whether they are doing enough. Social and Political Momentum for renewable energy indicates a positive trajectory; Renewables have significant presence in ‘politics’, and the ‘solution’, ‘debate’, and ‘hope’ zones of the circumplex. Offshore oil and gas expected to focus on natural gas instead of oil, with an investment shift towards wind power. The good news is that some of the world's largest oil and gas producers are investing billions in renewable energy assets, from offshore wind farms to solar energy to next-generation

25 Feb 2019 Companies work to scale renewable energy alongside oil and gas. Calls for clear regulatory policies toward a lower-carbon economy are  Renewable energy is energy from sources that are naturally replenishing but flow-limited; renewable resources are virtually inexhaustible in duration but limited in the amount of energy that is available per unit of time. The Ministry of Energy (Minenergo) is a federal executive body responsible for major oil and gas pipelines, oil and gas products, renewable energy sources,  A variety of technologies are used to convert these renewable resources into electricity. Each comes with its own unique set of benefits and challenges; collectively

With renewable energy, you can breathe easier, stay cooler, and create a more comfortable world for generations to come. When comparing renewable energy to fossil fuels, remember that renewable energy generation is cleaner, easier to sustain over time, expanding more rapidly, and sometimes even cheaper than fossil fuels.

Wind turbines and solar panels are popping up in many places, so it’s easy to assume that the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy is well on its way. But in fact it has barely begun. Scaling up solar and wind power to match the scale of today’s oil and gas industry is a huge undertaking.
